Sydney's Inner West
Blaxland Riverside Park is an amazing parkland space along side Parramatta River and there is plenty to keep the whole family entertained!
Pack a picnic and plan a day out with the family at the Blaxland Riverside Park. There are plenty of activities on offer, plus Sydney's largest playspace (a personal favourite of ours) where the kids will be entertained for hours!
There are free BBQ's for public use, plus the Blaxland Riverside Park Kiosk, and also the Armoury Wharf Cafe if you don't feel like cooking.
The walking trail is pram, scooter and bike friendly and you can also pop in and visit the Armory gallery on the weekend, where there are some amazing exhibitions on offer.
There is plenty of parking - however free parking is limited, so best to get in early.
There is also limited shaded areas, so you want to claim a spot early!
Blaxland Riverside Playspace
We have visited the play space a couple of times now - and it never fails to delight the kids!
There is so much to choose from, and the playground stretches out in front of you as you walk up from the car park. Given the size of the playground (3 hectares) even when busy, the kids can get a good go on the play equipment.
Our favourites include the huge spider-net, the spinning play disk, viking swing and the tunnel slides - but top of the list is the water play area!
Make sure you bring a towel and swimmers (or spare clothes) as once the kids see the water play areas, there will be no chance of keeping them dry. This is definitely the best water play area we have come across in Sydney, and it's huge!
There is also a multi level treehouse, sand pit and lots of open space to play sport or just run around. As you venture past the main play area, there is another small playground, plus a great hill to climb!
Put this on your to do list and enjoy!
