Sydney's Inner West
Darrell Jackson Gardens is a fabulous space with something for kids of all ages! It is located on Carlton Crescent in Summer Hill and is positioned right behind the car park at Summer Hill Village and next to the Summer Hill Community Centre.
This amazing spot includes two playgrounds (one is fully fenced and covered), an oval with a cricket pitch, tennis courts, netball court, skate park, outdoor chess board, BBQs and picnic area!
The playgrounds are excellent. Both are full of interesting equipment including lots of large climbing structures to keep older kids busy. There's also a variety of swings and slides.
The oval is a huge flat, open space, perfect for kicking a ball and also has a cricket pitch marked out. There are two tennis courts open for public use (no booking required) as well as a hard surface netball court. Next to the courts is a skate park. There is a path through the park that could be used for scootering too!
The park has a lot of big, beautiful, old trees providing lots of shade, particularly over the BBQs and picnic tables. There are numerous picnic tables and seats around the park.
Awesome park! Plenty of things to do for the kids and plenty of shady places to watch them! Grab a coffee from nearby Envy deli cafe and settle in to watch them enjoy themselves!
Great place for a picnic lunch or a kids party, with plenty of space for a large group. Located next to the Summer Hill Community Centre which could serve as a wet weather option.
