Sydney's Inner West
Very cool vintage 1950’s style diner.
So what makes Doughbox Diner so darn special?
Combine the love of a bygone era, with a Crepe Cone recipe so secret it’s kept under lock & key, and you have one pretty cookin’ dining experience!
Ordinarily you would find burgers & fries in a diner like ours, but we are bringing you folks something completely different, crazy and special!
Our hand-held Crepe Cones are our very own signature dish, and with over twenty different combinations to choose from, they will keep you coming back for more!
Compliment our Crepe Cones with a Malted Thickshake or Ice Cream Soda and finish off with a traditional Banana Split or Specialty Sundae and you’ll be made in the shade!
So swing on in and take a trip back to the rockin’, cool era that was the 1950’s – we guarantee you will have a blast! It's a small space but they welcome kids with big smiles and lots of style!

We've walked past this establishment so many times and wanted to dine here but it always looked busy and with hungry kids we just couldn't wait. However, tonight we arrived just in time as a booth became free. Tip from the lovely owner, Fiona, to come early as they don't take table bookings, preferably at 6pm when they open and during the week is easy to get a booth.
It's small inside but cosy and every inch of the interior is decorated in 1950's Diner style with records on the walls, booth seating and American sweets on the counters and an old jukebox. The kids loved it and felt like they were in an old movie! They called the records on the wall, olden day CD's - bless...
We were greeted with lovely smiles and a bowl of freshly popped buttery popcorn. There was so much to choose from on the menu from hotdogs, crepe cone burgers, waffles, pancakes, cheesy fries and we let the kids order whatever they wanted - whooahhhh, that was hilarious, they wanted it all!
Mister 8 ordered a Sundae called the Big Bopper (not for the faint hearted it said on the menu), a chocolate brownie covered with toffee, chocolate, vanilla & peanut butter ice cream, caramel fudge, peanut butter sauce, toasted almond flakes, snickers chunks, whipped cream and a cherry on top!
He put up a good fight, it was delicious - great combination of flavours and very decadent! Mr 9 ordered a Wicked Dough Box - a sweet Crepe with nutella, banana, strawberries, tim tam, milo, melted marshmallows and whipped cream! Also, delicious and huge!
Miss 4 had some ice cream which she said was the best she's ever had!
We had such a lovely evening and you have to go and spoil yourselves. We will be back - there are so many other things we need to try!
