Sydney's Inner West
Johnson Park is a playing field and a playground located on Constitution road, right at the Arlington light rail stop.
The playground was upgraded a few years ago and is now in two parts. Both parts are constructed on a soft-fall surface. One is suitable for smaller children, is covered and has some interesting climbing, spinning, swinging, bouncing and sliding equipment perfect for toddlers. The other area is more appropriate for older children and is limited in what it provides but still seems to be popular. There’s also a cute novelty frog sculpture to enjoy and a big old rocket-ship that is no longer for play but adds a little bit of unique ambience to the park.
There are tracks for rollerblading, scootering or bicycle riding and grassy area for ball games. You can find toilets, seats, sheltered picnic tables with BBQ facilities. Nothing is missing for good outdoor fun with the family.
A large, well kept, playing field provides a heap of flat space. There is also a basketball court and cricket nets at the eastern end of the park.
On Friday mornings between 9.30am and 12.30pm Marrickville Council's Magic Yellow Bus visits the park. This mobile playgroup is free, and is a great way to meet other parents and children. Under 5's can enjoy craft, storytime, toys, and plenty of other activities.
A well maintained park with and amenities block, new equipment and plenty of space for birthday parties and in very close proximity to the Sideways Deli Cafe.
A lovely, large shady park that has a few playgrounds, an open grassed area and a basketball court, Johnson Park is a great spot to stop in for a play and a run around with the kids. It's also nice and close to the popular bustling Sideways Deli Cafe that serves great food and coffee.
An undercover BBQ area, two sheltered picnic sites with tables, and an amenities block also make this outdoor recreational area perfect for kids’ parties or large gatherings.
