Sydney's Inner West
A well-used park with a playground and small basketball court. 15 years ago it used to be the home of the Marrickville swimming pool.
McNeilly Park is a favourite with Marrickville locals. Within it's boundaries is a playground, a number of picnic tables and eating areas, a half basketball court and toilet facilities. It's a very short stroll to Illawarra Road and a number of cafes. It also serves as a popular path to Marrickville Station.
The playground is great with something for every age. There's small cubby house type play equipment for the little ones and a more complex older climbing structure which includes a small flying fox. There are plenty of swings.
There are toilet facilities also. Parking is easy in the small streets around the park.
The Magic Yellow Bus visits McNeilly Park on Tuesdays from 9.30am - 12.30pm. This mobile playgroup is a hit with the under 5's and is a great way to meet other local parents.
Li'l Crafters kids crafting program also operates out of the Girl Guide hut in the park on Wednesdays and Fridays.
McNeilly Park provides kids of all ages with play equipment but also lots of little bush areas that they love to explore. There are some serious picnic tables too and as such is a great place for a birthday party!
