Sydney's Inner West
A lovely kid-friendly cafe/restaurant serving breakfast, lunch & dinner on the weekends and dinner only Monday to Friday. Kids Eat Free deal here folks!!
This cafe/restaurant has separate menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner and they all look amazing! There's a kids menu too with some very popular options.
The restaurant has two levels, downstairs is a character filled space perfect for a late morning breakfast and transforms to provide a warm and inviting cozy venue for a lovely dinner. There's also an upstairs area perfect for a private function (or a large party table).
Kids eat free here every night from 5.30-6.30pm and all kids meals include a free sundae.
They are licensed and BYO wine only. Gladstone Park is conveniently located across the street so the little people can have a run around after being so well behaved during your wonderful meal!
Our Place on Darling is located next to the church where the markets are held every Saturday. The restaurant has become a regular haunt for many Balmain locals and visitors to the area alike. The upstairs courtyard overlooking the church is also perfect for private functions, intimate dining or a great venue to spend a sunny day with friends.
Kids Eat Free every night for dinner between 5.30-6.30pm. Kids meals from the kids menu and include a free sundae if they finish the quiz! One kids meal per adult meal ordered.
Love it! We took our 5 children to Our Place on Darling for "brunch" one Sunday recently and we will certainly be back! It was a dreary, rainy day and this gorgeous place was a refuge in more ways than one!
They were busy and welcomed our bedraggled group with open arms. The restaurant downstairs was full so they let us use the small function room upstairs, the one large table was perfect for our rowdy bunch! All the kids got an activity sheet when we sat down and that kept them busy.
The kids menu is obviously tried and tested with real kids - pizza, spaghetti, chicken nuggets and they even made us a toasted sandwich. All the plates were empty at the end which is a sure sign they loved it - or maybe it was the kids churros that were offered for desert!
Claire and I ate very well too. I tried the veggie board from the "late starters" menu, gluten free pumpkin bread, mushrooms, avocado, fresh ricotta, pesto, roast tomato, rocket ($16). Claire had the zucchini & ricotta fritters with a soft poached egg, bacon, avocado, rocket ($15). We of course also followed up with churros served with a chocolate dipping sauce ($11). Mouthwatering, all of it! Much of the produce is organic and locally grown and we can certainly vouch for the taste!
The staff need a high five here, they were really busy and we arrived right between the end of breakfast at 11.30am and the start of lunch at midday. We were those people! They could not have been more accommodating and we appreciated that so much in our wet and tired state!
All in all a very big thumbs up for Our Place on Darling, we will be back soon to try their dinner menu!
