Sydney's Inner West
A child friendly pub with a kids menu and great food.
In their own words, The Marrickville Ritz Hotel has turned a dilapidated old arcade building into a sophisticated contemporary yet classical hotel. And we agree!
With a focus on modern Australian cuisine and aiming to be the gastro pub of Marrickville, The Ritz also serves a wide range of draught and bottled craft beers, cocktails and has an extensive wine list. In terms of the menu, everything we have ordered to date has been of excellent quality, with fast, efficient and accommodating service.
We recently revisited the Ritz, and loved their laid back welcoming attitude. The kids were welcomed and activity packs handed out when we arrived. The kids menu looked great, and the home made fish finger and chips was our pick of the day!
The Kids menu is simple and includes grilled chicken breast, fish and chips, chicken schnitzel, spaghetti bolognese and nachos - all $8.50 and they come with an ice-cream and an activity bag with coloured pencils! There's also a Kids Milkshake on the menu for $4.
Overall the big people's menu was extensive too and what we tried was yummy. We had the Pulled Pork Burger ($18) and the Pea, Ham and Mint Risotto from the special lunch menu at $12.50. Both were excellent value, well presented and we certainly didn't leave hungry.
Located in the middle of Marrickville, you can spend the morning at McNeilly Park or Jarvie Park and then head in for a light lunch.
Note: There are Poker Machines in the establishment however they are out of site and I didn't actually even notice them until the third time we went back.
