With a bit of planning a park party can be a great option, many of our TOP 10 have cafes nearby and they can often help you out with catering if that's your preference. All of these parks have eating areas, BBQs and all important toilet facilities plus lots of space for party games and excellent playgrounds for some party play. They all provide easy parking too.
Our number 1 choice! Water views, a fenced playground, covered eating and you can hire the covered space! Bridgewater Park is an excellent choice.
Steel Park is a favourite for birthday parties. The park is beautifully landscaped and has a few different covered spaces that could be used to hold a party. There are a few cafes nearby also. There's plenty of room for games, the waterplay park is always popular with the kids and the playground certainly entertains.
With a newly renovated and expanded bike track, Sydney Park is a great choice for a party. The Sydney Park Community Room adjoins the bike track and is available for hire. This huge park also provides plenty of other spaces suitable for a party and has an excellent playground. The Sydney Park Kiosk or Little Tastes Cafe are conveniently located and both can provide catering options.
Cabarita Park ticks all the party boxes. It's located on the water at Cabarita and has a few covered eating areas which would be suitable even in inclement weather. The newly renovated playground is amazing and there's plenty of open spaces for party games.
This historic old park has undergone a recent renovation, the result... an incredible party venue!! With a variety of all new playground areas, this park has so many different spaces and all are suitable for a party of any size. But get in quick, it's a popular party spot!
With a brand new all-abilities playground, plenty of open space and a cafe on site, Gough Whitlam Park is a great party park. There are eating areas but they're not covered.
One of the best playgrounds in the Inner West is also one of the best party venues you'll find. Covered BBQ and eating areas are located within the fenced playground. Livvi's Cafe sits right next to the playground as do the wide open spaces of Timbrell Park.
The wide expanses of Ashfield Park provide plenty of party options. The recently renovated playground means there's heaps of fun to be had for all ages. There are a number of seperate covered eating areas located close to the playground also which would be suitable in the rain!
With spectacular harbour views, an excellent playground and eating areas for a large group, Mort Bay Park had to make our TOP 10! The eating areas aren't covered but will seat a large group.
Dean Reserve is a wonderful little park, a hidden gem and perfect for a party. It has a covered eating area and a great open plan play space with some really interesting play equipment.
All these wonderful parks have spaces that you could decorate for your next birthday party but many of them cannot be booked, so it's first in, first serve. Get there early to reserve your tables and consider holding your party outside peak meal times for easier access to the facilities.
Check with individual councils for their requirements but as a general rule no permission is required to hold a party in a park unless you want to hire or set up play equipment such as a jumping castle for example.
