5 Habits for Healthy Living

We all know that there are things we could do to improve our health, Dr Amy Melamet has given us this simple list to help simplify things... do them all or just start with one, something's better than nothing right?

  1. SLEEP
Good quality sleep of optimal length of 8 hours allows the body to heal and the brain to rest. Don't underestimate the importance of sleep! Nap while bub naps to decrease your sleep debt (even a little!).

  2. FEED THE BRAIN AND THE BODY
Go for brightly coloured, vibrant fruit and vegetables to give yourself the vitamins and minerals you need. These will help with immunity, repair and energy.

  3. AVOID
Avoid highly processed foods, sugar, caffeine and sweeteners. These foods are inflammatory.

  4. KEEP FIT
Exercise releases chemicals that stimulate happiness and although you may feel puffed and tired, exercise actually re-energises the body.

  5. CHECKS
Get your body checked regularly by a chiropractor or another body worker to maintain the much needed movement you need as a Mum!
